Studio

Be Frank is a studio located in Philadelphia, providing fresh and innovative designs. Be Frank is a recent venture launched by graphic designers Jenny Yip and Marcy Coffey. Backed by years of experience in the print design industry, we are involved with all aspects of the design process. We approach each project as a challenge—searching for the best design solution—never a formula or template. We strive to offer unique, yet functional designs. Our expertise and experience lies in book and publication design, promotional graphics, identity systems and custom invitation packages.

In addition to graphic design services, Be Frank has an online store with stationery, paper goods, and other carefully crafted items.

Approach

Be Frank believes in simple, straightforward design. Our approach makes all the difference and we work as a team to put your visions into reality. While we let our designs speak for themselves, we also love to listen. Before we start each project we want to hear what you, the client, has to say: likes & dislikes; concerns & considerations; inspirations & aspirations. This process helps us work together to define the goals of the project. Designing with the goal in mind helps develop a marriage between function and aesthetics.

BIOS

Jenny Yip

Jenny brings her experience in concept development, art direction, and design itself to Be Frank. A problem solver by nature, Jenny is always looking for new and exciting design solutions. Whether it's interesting folds or unique paper, she likes to explore all options. Jenny is a graduate of Drexel University's Graphic Design Program, and continues to serve there as guest critic and adjunct instructor. Jenny is also a founding partner of Bench Dog Design.

Marcy Coffey

Also a graduate of Drexel University's graphic design program, Marcy has a talent for clean and elegant design with an eye for details. Working intentionally and intelligently through each project, she strives to produce the most functional, creative and appropriate solutions for every design. Marcy's work was published in several notable design publications: CMYK magazine, American Corporate Identity, and Graphic Design USA.

Be Frank believes in simple, straightforward designs. We provide carefully crafted items, made with a ‘lil love and a lot of attention to detail. Our designs can be described as fresh-&-funky meets sweet-&-homey.
